Steep slopes of French Alps were the last stop of 2014 World Cup season.
It was Meribel resort where the Banshee bikes factory team get together for the last time in this season. Except for injured Tommy Mathews (who have already left Europe and he is healing back home on New Zealand) and Matej Charvat (who sprained his ankle really badly a few weeks back after a crash on a road bike). Matt Walker got back to Europe after his three week overseas mission, where he took part in two World Cups rounds (MSA and Windham) and biggest MTB festival on the world Crankworx in Whistler B.C. In the meantime Reece Potter was fighting for Banshee bikes factory team colours on the sixth round of IXS European Cup in Pila (Italy), where he ended up on solid 15th place.
Unfortunately whole team had problem after problerm during the final round of 2014 World Cup. Matt Walker had to complete whole race weekend without most of his stuff becouse his luggace was lost by aerollines during his flights from US to Europe. Matt was unable to break bad fortune of last few races and ended up outside the TOP 80. Even though Reece Potter qualify to saturday race, he had to compete in borrowed helmet, googles, pads and shoes as the team pits were robbed just the night before the final race of World Cup season. Even in the race run itself Reece did not have good fortune. He sterted his run strong (36th on the second split) but just few hundreds meters from the finish line his rear tire burped off the rim. Reece still not gave up and finished on 79th place. Nice surprise was Stanley Sehnal who stepped up from our training programme. After he won Czech National Champs, he qualified in Meribel on 42nd spot and took 62nd in finals.
